Suqian lies in the north of Jiangsu Province, within the northern latitude of 33°8′—34°25′ and the eastern longitude of 117°56′—119°10′. Situated in the Economic Circle of Yangtze River Delta, Suqian is covered by Eastern Long-Hai Economic Belt, Coastal Economic Belt and Yangtze Riverside Economic Belt. It features a general “northwest high and southeast low” geographical pattern with the crest registering a 71.2-meter altitude and the trough a 2.8-meter altitude. The city boasts a favorable monsoon climate in the warm temperate zone with an annual average temperature of 14.2℃, an annual average precipitation of 910 mm and an annual average sunshine of 2,291 hours.
